Outagamie Area Chapter of Pheasants Forever - Youth Page
Wisconsin's Next Hunters
The future of conservation and hunting is with today's youth. As part of a national movement to get kids unplugged from electronics and interested in the outdoors, Pheasants Forever has created the "No Child Left Indoors" initiative. The goal is to take every opportunity at the national, state, and local level to introduce youth and their families to the outdoors; teach them about the outdoors; teach them about habitat, wildlife, and how to hunt; and instill an appreciation of natural resources and encourage them to be conservation-minded citizens.
Youth Trap Team Sponsorship
Currently we sponsor local high school trap shooting teams. Trap shooting has one of the best safety records out of all offered high school sports. We feel this sponsorship is a great way to promote shooting sports and recruit future hunters. Contact are chapter to learn learn about receiving funds for your youth trap shooting events or club.
Annual Youth Mentor Pheasant Hunt
Pheasants Forever mentored pheasant hunts are the ideal way to introduce kids and teens to hunting, as experienced volunteer hunters from Pheasants Forever coach youth on the importance of firearm safety, wildlife habitat and hunting technique.
Youth Hunter Safety and Education
While we all like to have fun in the field and chase pheasants for miles, safety is one of the most important aspects. We promote and encourage hunter safety in the field. Through these classes and education we show both youth and adults the proper ways to hold, maneuver and proper gun care. Getting those who are not familiar with a gun, comfortable with handling their firearm so that they can enjoy their hunts successfully.
